"Make a gradient based on your day".
That was the open prompt given to 12 people on April 16. The prompt encourages participants to think beyond simply figurative and explicit representation. Along with the gradient, the contributors were asked to submit the highest and lowest point of the day, which were all listed in the zine's index.
Using the visual language of the early digital aesthetics, the highly pixelated typeface contrasts perfectly with the smooth, seamlessly rendered digital gradients. The abstracted, unspecific interpretations of the day, accompanied by the vague good and bad points, create an intriguing, curiosity driven experience for the reader. Each zine also comes with an inclusion of each gradient printed on a piece of transparency, allowing for the reader to rearrange and overlay gradients on top of each other.
