MENT:FOR is a hypothetical wine brand specializing in naturally fermented wild wine. In trying to create a wine brand identity that deviates from the "traditional" and "classical" look we're all familiar with, I landed on an identity that reflects the real star of the show: the fermentation process.
I approached the design with the intention of making it a reflection of the wine itself: raw, unique, and full of personality, while still embodying refinement and elegance. I pulled symbols inspired by the process of fermentation, such as reoccurring circles to represent bubbles and growth, and white spindly tendrils on the box to represent the white deposits commonly found on the surface of naturally fermented wine. The design is experimental, fluid, and ever-changing, allowing the natural elements to leave their unpredictable mark on the work, mimicking the natural wine-making process.
Immersive, textural, and unexpected, the accompanying brand packaging turns the wine into more than just another bottle: it becomes an artisanal product, with the collectability of an art object.
